How to Activate Airtel 5G SIM Card | Step-by-Step Guide

Airtel roll out its 5G services in many regions, offering high-speed connectivity and improved network performance. If you have recently got a new Airtel 5G SIM or upgrade from a 4G SIM, activation is require before you can start using the network.

This activation process is easy and can be done via SMS, online portals or by visiting an Airtel store.

How to Activate Your New Airtel SIM Card?

Follow These Steps :

  1. Power off your phone and insert the new Airtel 5G SIM into the slot.
  2. Switch on your device and wait for the network signal to appear.
  3. Call 59059 from your Airtel number to complete the activation process.
  4. Follow the IVR instructions to verify your identity.
  5. Your SIM should be activate within a few hours.
  6. Restart your phone if necessary.
  7. When activated, make sure that the Airtel network is available and that mobile data is functioning correctly.

NOTE : If your SIM does not activate within 24 hours, contact Airtel customer support or visit a nearby Airtel store for assistance.

How to Activate Airtel eSIM?

Follow These Steps :

Android

  1. Check if your Android device supports eSIM by going to Settings.
  2. Then go to About Phone.
  3. Tap SIM Status.
  4. Send an SMS with the text “eSIM” to 121.
  5. You will receive a confirmation SMS.
  6. Reply with “1” to proceed.
  7. Airtel will send a QR code to your register email.
  8. Go to Settings.
  9. Then go to Mobile Network.
  10. Add Data Plan and scan the QR code to complete the activation.
  11. Restart your device to ensure the eSIM is activated successfully.

iPhone

  1. Make sure Your iPhone Supports eSIM.
  2. Compatible iPhones include iPhone XR, XS, 11 series and newer models.
  3. Text “eSIM” to 121.

  5. Check your email for the eSIM QR code.
  6. Open Settings.
  7. Then go to Mobile Data.
  8. Add Data Plan and scan the QR code.
  9. When the eSIM is install then restart your phone to complete activation.

How to Activate a Previously Deactivated Airtel SIM?

Follow These Steps :

  1. Check the Deactivation Period.
  2. If your SIM has been inactive for more than 90 days, it might be permanently deactivated.
  3. Carry a valid government ID and visit the nearest Airtel store to request reactivation.
  4. Provide identity proof and address proof for verification.
  5. The SIM reactivation process may take 24 to 48 hours.
  6. When reactivated, restart your phone and check if the network is available.

NOTE : If your number has permanently deactivated, you may need to purchase a new SIM and request the same number if available.
